SMCE was formed in 1976 by MR. SATISH MARATHE.
Since it started the firm has focused exclusively on CIVIL ENGINEERING. SMCE works well with any Architects and Service Consultants.
Who we are ?
SMCE is a structural and civil engineering consulting firm providing services to architects, engineers, contractors, developers, governmental entities, industries and institutions. We’re passionate about application of engineering to the built environment. We work on projects of all sizes and types, and we bring that passion to every single one. We believe that we have a responsibility to be active citizens in our profession and our communities.
What we do ?
The built environment is integrated part of our life. People need shelter, places to work, places to eat, places to learn and grow, and ways to commute. The nature of engineering is to find creative solutions to problems – some extraordinary.
We engineer structures, infrastructure, systems and provide diagnostics and technical consulting.
By understanding the impact of design decisions, we try to provide optimized structural solutions. How will design options affect structural needs ? How can the structural design minimize steel fabrication and erection costs ? How can the design simplify construction ? We ask ourselves, what would I require of I were to be the client or the contractor. This helps our clients find ways to shorten the schedule, reduce construction costs and deliver an outstanding project.
An unexpected snag in the field costs time and money. We solve problems before they happen. We work out the details before we get to the site, improving efficiency.

Constructability is the application of collaborative design, in depth construction knowledge and real – world experience in support of our clients’ goals. It expands the parameters that can be considered in design decisions. It allows us to proactively consider all aspects of the construction process, and facilitate a more thorough design. It helps us to identify structural limitations early on, capitalize on opportunities that can reduce construction schedules and costs, and ultimately create a structure that is more efficient with its use of resources.
