Mr. Satish Marathe
Mr. Satish Marathe founded SMCE in 1976. Firm’s body of knowledge and experience rest on a strong foundation built by more than 50 years of dedication and contribution to the field of Civil and Structural Engineering by Mr. Satish Marathe. Few important events led to this Vision are,
1969 BE, Univ. Of Mysore, First class first with Gold Medal and with several awards.
1971 MS (Structures) Univ. Of Florida
1974 MBA Univ. Of North Florida
During 1971-75 designed various multi story cast in-situ and precast buildings, load bearing structures up to seven stories. Development of apartment complexes in several cities of Southeastern US, modification to vertical Assembly Building to NASA
Factory buildings and warehouses commercial buildings, several prestressed concrete bridges, timber and aluminum structures Preliminary planning of 17 mile long J. Turner Butler Boulevard in Jacksonville. SMCE was formed in 1976 by Mr. Satish Marathe, right from the start the firm has focused exclusively on civil engineering.
Mr. Satish Marathe after return to India in 1979 the operation of SMCE was started from Mumbai & Pune. SMCE has done all kind of Structural design works, Proof checking works, Project management works & Structural audit works. SMCE had joint venture with Barli Engineers for the Design & Execution of more than 25 bridges in Maharashtra for India. SMCE had joint venture with one of its associate to form a new firm The Quest under which we had done Architectural planning, Structural design, Project Management & Supervision of execution for many projects.
Mr. Satish Marathe taught TOS (Theory of Structures) subject in many Architectural colleges in Pune, for 25 years. SMCE have provided technical training to the site engineers, Fitters & Carpenters to understand the quality work.A technical class is conducted in the SMCE office from the establishment to till date. Various subjects were learnt & discussed.This activity helps to improve engineer’s technical knowledge.
